Floor cloths are very durable, easy to clean and pet friendly. They
are a wonderful way to add more art to your home....art you can walk
on. I personally use floor cloths in most rooms of my home, including
under the kitchen table. They all still look great!
I use a
heavy weight canvas that I prepare for paint by preshrinking the fabric
and hemming with mitered corners. These floor cloths lay flat.
I
prim both sides of floor cloth and add two coats of base color to
decorated side. Sanding is done between coats and finally the design is
painted. After paint cures I apply several coats of polyurethane to
both sides. This will protect from moisture and traffic.
